Frequently Asked Questions
How long will it take to create my app?
MotherApp’s BlogEngine creates your app in minutes. It is then submitted to Apple for approval.
How long does the approval process take?
iPhone apps submitted to the App Store are taking three weeks on average to be approved. This means that your app could take more or less time to get through the Apple approval process.
What will my app look like?
The BlogEngine uses your RSS feed and Twitter name to create an app in our standard format. To see how your app will look, please download Tim Ferriss’ Blog from the App Store. Tim is the author of the #1 New York Times bestseller “The 4-Hour Work Week.”
What does it cost to use the BlogEngine to create my app?
We offer two options:
- Ad-supported (Free) - Once the MotherApp ad network is in place, you will receive a 50% share of any revenue generated by ads on your blog app.
- Ad-free ($99/year) - Your blog app will not display ads
Can my readers comment on my posts within the app?
That feature is coming soon.
Does the BlogEngine work on other platforms, like Android?
BlogEngine will be available on Android, Blackberry, Windows Mobile and Symbian in early 2010.
How will I be paid? How often?
Once you have reached a threshold of $200 in ad revenue, MotherApp will make deposits to your PayPal account monthly. You’ll need to meet the $200 threshold each month in order to receive payment, or the payment will roll over each month until the threshold is met.
I selected the ad revenue sharing option, but there are no ads on my app. Where are they?
The MotherApp ad network will be in place soon. We have released our BlogEngine in advance of the ad network to enable bloggers to begin reaching their mobile audiences as quickly as possible.
